Braided Hair Tutorial from Irina Bilka

We caught up with award winning stylist and makeup artist, Irina Bilka who works in the  Tampa/Miami market. Irina generously provided a step by step “How-To” for our readers. On with the Tutorial!

Step One:

brush the hair thoroughly so it doesn't have any kind of knots.

Step Two:

Grab all the hair like u are about to make a ponytail in one hand and with the other hand start sectioning off the hair above the ear( 1 inch) and going around the hairline all around the head. clip the top section away.

Step Three:

Start braiding a normal french braid starting at ear. When finished braiding the first braid, hold the braid in one hand at the end and with the other hand pull the braid out to make it loose then secure the end with an elastic band. Repeat same step on the on the other side of head.

Step Four:

360
Hold the top section of the head in one hand and start sectioning a second row above your first braid. Clip away the top section.

Step Five: (Repeat step 3.)

Step Six:

Release the remaining top section of the head and repeat step 3.

Step Seven:

Once all the hair has been braided, take all the braids in one hand and roll then like into a bun and secure them with pins at the nape of the head.

Step: Eight

Hairspray the sections in place with hairspray and shine spray for a beautiful finished look!
